*sigh* I miss GEnie too. That’s one of bad casualties of the WWW. I did the dial in and download too! Before I figured that out, I remember having a $200 phone bill once because I was blissfully reading live. Yike! The closest thing to that, I think, is the eHarlequin board, which I’ve really only just discovered.

Yes, I was on GEnie in those long ago ancient days. And I actually miss what we had there. I think the small intimate scale made for great discussions. (I had to dial in and download messages since I was paying by the minute, ha!)

Hi, Alison! Were you on the GEnie Romance board back then (ancient times)? Ha! When we got the 9600, I knew I’d NEVER need another modem. LOL! And now I can’t live without a cable modem. What’s next?!

OMG, LOL! My first modem was 2400 baud! And when I fried it I thought I was moving up in the world to 9600! Wow, and that wasn’t that long ago either.
