Hi, Susan. I've seen some good articles on collaging, but I can't remember where precisely. In fact, I believe Jenny Crusie wrote an article for the RWR a couple of years ago that talked about it. And, for a while, she actually had pictures of her collages on her website.

LOL, you're no more of a Ricky Martin fanatic than I am. But he is terribly cute here, isn't he? :)

Yes, Loribelle, I agree with you! I love to find objects that are job related or scenery or whatever, but I have a damned hard time with the characters. Even the minor ones. I can see them in my head, but pictures of actors/models don't help me much. Except I could kind of see it with Ricky here. :)

Oh... and if that's what Ricky Martin looks like... well nothing wrong with looking, is there? Sigh. Put that man in a uniform, oh yes!

Hmmm... that idea of the collage might be worth trying. I do have a few pictures that I have posted on my bulletin board but the pictures are more portraying the essense of who the character is and not so much what he/she really looks like in my minds eye, if that makes sense.

I find the whole collage thing fascinating, but I don't know if it's helped me a lot. Of course my effort has been, um, less than 100% lol. I find it works better for images/objects I associate with the work than the characters. I rarely find a photo of a model/actor that fits my mental image. I may give it another try when I finish the short I'm working on and go back to my longer wip.
