Tanya: It is hilarious, isn't it? I called my hubby at work and asked him how his b*tch was. And then I repeated a couple of the unrepeatable parts of the text message, basically the part where she calls him names. He laughed.

Cyn: It's never happened to me either, thankfully.

Jean: Hi! Glad you commented. :) Nope, he hasn't lived it down yet because I keep teasing him. I also said what if this woman had sounded much more educated? Then I might wonder if he really was up to something.... :) (Not really, only if it happened A LOT.)

Terry: Hugs! We went through something similar. Because Mike has a common name, and because there is another guy with his name who is roughly the same age and also served in the military, we found that the two credit reports were being merged. The other guy has bad credit. :( It took a little bit of doing, but we got his stuff removed and I have monitoring now. Most people don't realize that debts aren't necessarily reported by SSN. We learned that and requested that all his be reported that way. I still get notices from the monitoring service about the other guy, but when I run the report, none of his stuff is on there.

Actually, I'm fighting a mistaken identity thing right now. I keep getting calls from a collection agency for the debt of someone with a different name but my social security number. I dispute it, it goes away, then pops back up again after a couple of months. Frustrating.

That was hilarious (except for the annoyance of the never-ending call).

Has your husband lived down having a whole other family he never told you about yet?
