leave a responseOMG, I just got the call that my military romantic suspense manuscript, HOT PURSUIT, is a finalist in the Contemporary Series Romance: Suspense/Adventure category!!!!!
I’ve never finaled before, though I think this was my 4th time entering. Y’all, it CAN happen!

How’s your retirement going? I remember the feeling. It was thrilling and scary all at once.
But moving to Alabama was a GOOD thing.

I had the lunch yesterday, medal award on Friday (I’m not doing a ceremony), leave for three weeks (hubby’s birthday and things we like to do didn’t cooperate with a terminal leave approach), back in AL for the final three weeks finalize medical stuff and to ship household goods. Then I set up in Central Texas and commute back and forth with hubby in San Antonio until we finish moving everything up to the big house and sell the San Antonio house.
In short, it’s going well. Just some nagging medical things I’m trying to get resolved before I leave for good. If that doesn’t happen, I’ll have to transfer into retirement and work it that way.
Thanks for asking. I’m really looking forward to it. 28 years on AD is enough.

Jean: We did a ceremony. But, we were in Hawaii, and the USS Missouri was too cool to not use. *grin* I know why you aren’t doing it though! And I so know what you are going through!! NO ONE can tell you what to expect, no matter what. You just have to go through it for yourself. Gawd, I remember the uncertainty, the fear, the excitement.
