Most of the traditional holiday food I like, hubby doesn't care for. We cook at home or eat out (it's not that bad -- it's one way I can get the traditional stuff I like, and hubby can get what he likes). We have gotten together with family. I have gotten together with friends. Oddly, I like being alone on Thanksgiving, but that's problematic -- how do you tell someone you'd rather be alone that at their gathering? The easy answer is to politely decline and say you already have plans and hope they don't ask for specifics.<br/>Hubby makes a good meal, too, even if he doesn't make some of the traditional favorites I like. However, I am excited about getting to visit my son and his family in Nebraska. It'll be a 13 hour drive but worth it to see my son and our grandsons who must have grown oodles since June. #2 grandson is walking now. (sigh)<br/><br/>I still have to check with the DIL and see what she'd like me to do. I've earned a very unpleasant nickname because of it that I won't share. Anyway, there's just certain things, especially food, that complete the experience.
