Yesterday, I made a snap decision. I decided to throw my hubby a birthday party. Not a big blow-out or extravaganza, just a simple cocktail party with finger food and friends. He’s never had a birthday party because the day is so close to Christmas. This year, I hemmed and hawed about having a holiday party. And then it hit me (late, admittedly): why not have a quick and easy get-together for his birthday?

So that’s what I did. Before I could change my mind, I sent the invite. So now I’m thinking about party essentials, planning a menu, and worrying about if people can make it on such short notice. But I’m sure it’ll work out. Sometimes snap decisions are the best.

What kind of snap decisions have you made? How did it turn out?

Sometimes the things you do spontaneously turn out best. I’m leaving in 30 minutes to meet up with my sister in Atlanta. We only planned this trip a few weeks ago, but I’m sure it will be awesome. We have a hotel room and the city is full of things to do and places to eat. Oh… and there’s Lenox Square for shopping. What more could you want?

Sounds like fun, Lynn. Keep it simple and you won’t go crazy with the details. ;)

Sam's is great for finger foods and desserts. BONUS: You'll be able to doll up & dazzle him. :)

    Enjoy the party!

Hey, y’all! I’ve scarcely been near the computer in two days! PM, hope you’re having fun in Atlanta.

Kathy, I’m keeping it fairly simple — but I’m fussy and prissy, sigh. Remember the menu Kim and I did for the Pampered Chef party?

Hi, Rashda! Good suggestion! I’m going to Sam’s and Costco either tomorrow or over the weekend, so will look for easy snacks.

PC, I can’t wait either! Even though I have to do a lot of work between now and then. :)
