On restriction
Monday, November 16th, 2009 Nov 16th, 2009 leave a response

Hey, y’all! Sorry to be absent lately, but I’m working hard on revisions and I also have a novella to finish. Add in the upcoming holiday rush, a new book release (Dec in the UK and India, Jan in the US and Australia), and I just don’t know where the time goes! All I know is it seems as if I have a lot going on lately. :)

But, why don’t we liven things up a bit around here? It’s time to give away a signed copy of Cavelli’s Lost Heir! Leave me a comment for a chance to win. And tell me what you’re doing to get ready for the holidays!

UPDATE: The winner is Cynthia! See the comments below for details!

    Hi:

I am busy cleaning, painting and etc to get ready for the holidays. I seem to do this same pattern every year. I am also getting the menu ready for Thanksgiving. So we will be doing a lot of cooking that day to celebrate.

    Cynthia

Does curling into the fetal position and crying for my mommy count as “getting ready for the holidays?”

Kimberly: I love your sense of humor! I think I’m just going to opt out of the holidays this year.

So far I have done absolutely nothing to get ready for Christmas and other than buy presents for family and get them mailed off I won’t do anything since I will be at my brother’s house for Christmas. Nobody will be home here.

Now that my son’s birthday has come and gone we are gearing up for planning for christmas, which means starting the gift lists and deciding what to do for christmas day.
Of course the most fun part is creating the crafts with the kids to give everyone as gifts! Everyone appreciates them so much more and the kids so enjoy it.

I’ve gotten most of Christmas shopping done. Just have to get for one more person. I started planning what cookies I’m going to bake and I know which Christmas cards I’m going to send out this year. I plan on hanging up the Christmas lights and decorations outside this week.

I’m trying out the digital scrapbooking thing this year to print out at Shutterfly. I’ve been checking out the various tutorials & applying what I’ve learned. I’m supposed to be working on WIP but I’m trying to take advantage of the sale & free shipping on those shutterfly books but will switch gears asap. Have finished most of my shopping – only 2 more to go! Yeehaw! Now I can sit back, work on my WIP, enjoy the holidays and watch everyone else scramble.

 Not done much yet in the run up to Christmas. Plan to spend a day shopping and get it all done! Good luck on the revisions! Take care. Caroline x

Until this afternoon, the answer to what am I doing to get ready for the holidays was ‘nothing’ but I just had a great day in York and found lots of things to help me cross a few names off my gift list  Good luck with those revisions, Lynn – I’m just sitting here in the afterglow of getting my latest accepted so I hope that comes soon for you.

And you don’t need to put me into the draw – I treated myself to Cavelli’s Lost Heir after doing my shopping – now all I need is the time to read it.

    Kate

I’m busy with some house renovations – we’re having our garden landscaped and fixing up the outside area – just in time for Summer. We’ll be able to entertain and have BBQs outside – can’t wait :D Am desperately hoping it’ll all be completed by Xmas.

I also want to set up a “reading & writing area” so I can either write or read my fav HM&B outside on warm balmy nights – bliss!!!

Dear friends, I am so happy to hear from you and hear what you’ve been up to! Thanks for the replies, and I’m sorry I haven’t been able to respond in a timely manner. Revising, revising, revising — and the deadline is approaching!

I hope to be back next week, more coherent, and with interesting things to say. (snicker, we’ll see about that, right!?)

For those of you who’ve gotten the Christmas shopping done already — OMG, I have envy! I still have so much to do, and another deadline in December!

And now you might like to know the winner! Cynthia, you are the lucky winner of a signed copy of Cavelli’s Lost Heir! Send me your contact info at lynn AT lynnrayeharris DOT com (or use the contact form on this site) and I’ll get the book in the mail (next week, no doubt!).
