I need a clone
Monday, February 8th, 2010 Feb 8th, 2010 leave a response

There’s simply too much to do, and I’m failing at thinking up interesting and witty blog posts these days. When I realize it’s been a week since my last post, I’m surprised. Where did the time go?

It would be nice to have a clone, wouldn’t it? Or maybe just an intelligent robot who could do some things for you. I DO have a robot to vacuum for me, and I love it very much. My hubby insisted on getting a Roomba a few months ago; I resisted, as I often do, thinking there was no way a little, round robotic vacuum could do that good a job.

The Roomba (we call him Jeeves in this house, even though he speaks with a lady’s voice) ROCKS. I have officially eaten my words and I could not live without Jeeves. Jeeves is so fabulous, in fact, that he has accomplished something quite miraculous: my husband now does most of the vacuuming. Seriously, how could I not be pleased?

Now I need a robot who will do laundry, shop for groceries, cook, and run errands for me. Hubby says I need to hire a maid, but I don’t begin to know how to find one. Not to mention I’d have to clean the house before I could let someone else clean the house. ;)

The other thing I need is a vacation. Not a vacation from writing, but a vacation from the gray, cold, rainy place where I live. I am so missing Hawaii right about now. *sigh* If I could take my computer and go to a sunny place, I’d happily do it. But, the hubby has to work and the cats need food and water on a daily basis, and going away alone is no fun. So I’m staying home.

I guess I could get out the Hawaiian CDs and the Aloha wear, and pretend I’m enjoying balmy temps and tropical flowers. It might work. (The South is not supposed to be this cold!) If you’re living somewhere gray and cold, what do you do to cope with the winter blues? And if you know where to get one of those house-cleaning, errand-running robots, I’d like to know that too. ;-)

Lynn, I understand your frustration at the cold, gray days. I feel like I will never be warm but personally I have to say that I am VERY, VERY glad that you moved from Hawaii other wise I would not have had the chance to meet you.

Aww, thanks, Stephanie. I love my HOD family — but sometimes I miss Hawaii. If only I could take us all there! ;)

Hang in there; Spring is just around the corner and the sun will shine and we will once again be complaining that it is too hot.

Yeah, I guess. But I wish the hot would get here! I prefer hot over cold. :)

    Hey Lynn

I don’t have a robot to clean house and do all that stuff but I do have 3 little girls who are growing up quickly. Boohoo. One of the perks is they are great big girl helpers. So the house gets cleaned on Saturday and I pretend the mess isn’t there Monday – Friday. Oh well. Life’s too short to worry about having a perfectly clean house. There’s lots more things to do.

Also, Florida has been having a cold Jan/Feb. But it’s fun to snuggle.

    Take care.

I know, I miss the sunshine! And now I am running errands and playing nurse to my hip dude. I wish I were three people!

Hang in there, light a candle or five and hunker down under a warm blanket. Soon the golden days will return.

    :)

Hope your hubby is doing well, Christine! You have lots to keep you busy! If only we could get some sun, you know? There was a *tiny* bit today, for about 20 minutes I think….

A clone and a maid would be awesome! I know how you feel about the gray days. I really needed today’s sunshine. Back to clouds tomorrow.

I had a cleaning company for a couple of months a few years ago. It was great. I was forced to straighten and put everything away, and then they did all the hard work. ;-)

Good luck finding your own sunshine!

We didn’t have sunshine up here, Gwen. :( I can’t wait until we do, but it’s supposed to be cold and gray for the rest of the week.

mm yes a clone to do all the things that MUST be done so you have time to do what you WANT to do! That would be a great world to live in. But then kind of boring too don’t you think?
It’s the little chores that help to round out life – wait i sound too philosophical, send some of that grey weather to hot Hamilton in NZ, we are roasting over here! :)

You are welcome to the cold weather, Kerrin! We’re so sick of it up here. If I could send you some, I would. :)
