The Life

If you follow me on Twitter, you may think I tweet a lot of cat photos. And it’s true, I do. My furry children are adorable. And they do adorable things. And I must share them.

This is Nimitz at his best. At his best means when he’s sleeping. When he’s awake, all bets are off. He is the most destructive cat I’ve ever had in my life. He once knocked an oil painting off the wall. A big one. He stood on the piano and pulled it until the (admittedly old) wire broke. Crazy cat.

I’ve discovered the most fabulous product, thanks to him. Quake Putty. If you live in an earthquake zone, you know what I’m talking about. This is not something we need here in the South. Unless you have a Nimitz, that is. Quake Putty looks like silly putty. Except that it holds things (like vases of flowers, for example) down on the furniture so your fuzzy wrecking ball can’t destroy them. It doesn’t harm wood, either, which is great. I have two packs of the stuff. Came in really handy at Christmas with the extra decorations I set out, I can tell you.

Am I the only person with a destructive pet?

Interesting product! Here’s my question. If the devious cat manages to wreck the item that’s gotten puttied anyway, is the putty poisonous if eaten by the same devious cat?

Needless to say I have VERY devious cats… (Meankitty!)

@Jody W.: Wow, if your cat can destroy something that’s puttied down, she’s even more devious than Nimitz! He’s never yet been able to move a thing that’s puttied.

Okay, the brand name is Quake Hold and it’s museum grade putty, non-toxic (according to the label). I ordered it online. Oh, and it’s reusable too. Lasts for years. I’ve been really pleased with it. :)

My husband calls the “kittens” The Wrecking Crew, so no, you’re not the only one with a Nimitz (love that name). Quake Putty, eh? I may need to look into some of that.

@Jean: It’s a wonderful product, Jean! Nimitz was named for where he was found: Nimitz Hwy, Honolulu. ;)

 Quake Putty should be good for lots of things!

Nimitz is so adorable on that cat thingie. Speaking of which, I should get one for Christine Daae, my Maine Coon. She’s not destructive, per say. Anyone have tips why she’s pooping on the floor? Yuck!

LOL! What a beautiful cat :-)

My kitty hasn’t wrecked anything yet but she did just fall off the back of the sofa onto my lap! I’m not sure which one of us was most shocked!! I’ve always been a dog lover but I’m being won over by the most affectionate cat in the world!!

Nimitz is a wonderful cat, he truly is! So is Miss Pitty Pat, she is every inch the Sweet Southern Belle. I should know I am proud to say I am their Cat GrandMa!
